In The Bone Witch, Tea mastered resurrection―now she's after revenge...
No one knows death like Tea. A bone witch who can resurrect the dead, she has the power to take life...and return it. And she is done with her self-imposed exile. Her heart is set on vengeance, and she now possesses all she needs to command the mighty daeva. With the help of these terrifying beasts, she can finally enact revenge against the royals who wronged her―and took the life of her one true love.
But there are those who plot against her, those who would use Tea's dark power for their own nefarious ends. Because you can't kill someone who can never die...
War is brewing among the kingdoms, and when dark magic is at play, no one is safe
This book is one of those rare sequels that is better than the first installment in a series! The writing was better and the storyline was soooo much better. More exciting and Tea seemed more mature. It is almost like the first book set the stage, and now the author felt we were ready for the real story. The character relationships are so dynamic, and I am not one who enjoys dark heroes, but somehow I find myself loving Tea. I am enthralled with her passion and feel compelled to support her. She has been through a lot, grown so much, and is making the tough decisions to protect those she cares for, and even as she does things she is not proud of, she is trying to hurt as few as possible, all while being in control of herself and her davea. An awesome book and I cannot wait for the next installment to be released!!!!
I give The Heart Forger 5 out of 5 stars
I give the audio content 5 out of 5 stars
Note: if you are having difficulty with the switching perspectives (past to present) the audio version of this book uses different male and female voices for the Bard and Tea helping sort out the different time perspectives and greatly enhancing the book.
Lover of all things books! Here you will find my thoughts on many of the books I read.

The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco
The first thing about this book that caught my attention was the gorgeous cover. It is unique and absolutely lovely! Then I read the summary and I was trapped. So much is going on in this book. The author very skillfully creates a world revolving around Asian magic and intricacies. The plot unfolds a little slowly for my taste, but I could easily follow the change from present to past tense and back as the main character relays her story. The love story was not the central element in this book, but was evident enough to pique the readers curiosity. The world building is done expertly. The magic system is original and eloquent. All in all this was an intriguing read and I look forward to the sequel. I do warn the reader this book is a bit dark, but not overly so. I also enjoyed the audio version of this book.
I give the Bone Collector 4 out of 5 Stars
I give the audio version 4 out of 5 stars
